Keynote Speaker: Bucky Dent – The Difference Is You!
   Bucky is known throughout the baseball world as one of the most respected defensive coaches. He honed his craft as a three-time American League All-Star and played on two World Championship teams with the New York Yankees. Bucky became a household name, and also a thorn in the side of Red Sox fans, when he shocked Boston with a three-run home run over The Wall at Fenway Park in the 1978 Divisional Playoff game against the Red Sox. Bucky went on to be named the 1978 World Series MVP as the Yankees won their second-straight championship. Bucky Dent's Baseball School , in Delray Beach, Florida, covers all the bases with its week-long camps designed for players of all ages and abilities. It is, perhaps, the finest Baseball School in the country.

Gary L. Moss, O.D., M.B.A., C.P.C., F.A.A.O. – Business Strategies for the Lifecycle of the Ultimate Eye Care Practice
   Dr. Moss is a former Associate Professor and Director of Continuing Education at The New England College of Optometry(NECO). At NECO he was the developer and instructor of record for the Health Care Business Management tract. In addition, he was an adjunct faculty instructor at Emmanuel College, Boston, where he taught Marketing, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management.

    The consulting firm he started in 1985, Practice Appraisal & Mediation, has been endorsed by the American Optometric Association as a member benefit program for over 15 years. He has testified as an expert witness for attorneys in over a half dozen states involving disputes over practice value and professional goodwill, and has consulted for over 475 optometric practices in 22 states and Canada since 1985.

    Lead author for the textbook Eyecare Business: Marketing & Strategy, published by Butterworth-Heineman, and contributed four chapters to Business Aspects of Optometry published by Elsevier Health Science.

    Founding member of the Association of Practice Management Educators. Benedict Professor of Practice Management at the University of Houston College of Optometry.

    He is on the Editorial Advisory Panel for the journals Optometry, the Journal of the AOA and New O.D. In August 2006, he was a consultant for Vistakon at the Wharton School of Business Executive MBA pilot program. 

    In 2005, he completed the American Academy of Professional Coder’s 50 hour course and passed the 5 hour exam to earn the CPC, Certified Professional Coder credential. He and Mark Wright, OD started eyecarebusinesstraining.com, a website and training firm focused on 1& 2 day coding and business training programs for optometrists. Currently, he is an adjunct assistant professor teaching Epidemiology in the Health Services Administration program at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL.

Mark Wright, O.D. – Business Strategies for the Lifecycle of the Ultimate Eye Care Practice
   In 1980, Dr. Wright purchased a satellite office that was open two half days a week and created Professional Vision Care which became a 9 doctor, three location, full scope optometric practice. Additionally, he is the faculty coordinator for the Bennett/VSP Business Management Program at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Wright was the 2005-2006 Benedict Visiting Professor for the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Wright is the President of Pathways to Success - Optometrists, an internet based practice management consulting company for optometrists.

John Rumpakis O.D., M.B.A. – Cracking The Code: The Myth's, Mysteries, & Essentials Of Medical Eye Care Coding - Part 1
   Dr. Rumpakis is currently President & CEO of Practice Resource Management, Inc., a firm that specializes in providing a full array of consulting, appraisal, and management services for healthcare professionals and industry. He has developed some of the leading web-based software applications for the medical/eye care field such as ReimbursementPLUS®, the industry leading internet-based CPT Code Information and Reimbursement software program and WhatsMyPracticeWorth.com®, a dynamic online practice appraisal tool. He is also the founder of Opt-ED® Professional Continuing Education which creates and delivers top tier continuing education around the country as well as Opt-IN® which provides optometric marketing and promotional services.

   Named the Chief Medical Coding Editor for Review of Optometry, he has been extensively published on the topics of third party coding & billing, practice management, team building, maximizing effectiveness and profitability, including the textbook “Business Aspects of Optometry”. Dr. Rumpakis is a popular lecturer both nationally and internationally. In addition to having had a successful solo practice, Dr. Rumpakis developed the practice management curriculum at Pacific University College of Optometry and taught optometric & medical economics there for over a decade.

   A 1984 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry, he currently serves as Vice-Chair of AOA’s Optometry’s Meeting® Executive Committee, was the primary architect of the AOA Advantage program, and has served as chair for the Student Debt Special Project Team, the Gold Disk Project Team, and the Practice Perpetuation Project Team.

Mike Rothschild, O.D. – Legendary Service In Eye Care
   Mike Rothschild, O.D. founded West Georgia Eye Care in 1999. He has an innovative approach to practice management, which empowers the staff to develop their individual leadership skills. He has an aggressive approach to growth and an insatiable drive for new ideas that help optometry strive toward excellence. Dr. Rothschild is a founding member of LeadershipOD.com, a consulting web site dedicated to excellence in optometric practices. He lectures frequently on team building and practice communications.

Don Teig, O.D., F.A.A.O. – Excellence In Eye Care – How We Say It! How We Do It!
   Dr. Teig is the senior partner in a multimillion dollar four doctor practice in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He is a past Benedict Distinguished Visiting Professor in Practice Management at the University of Houston College of Optometry and was the Senior Consultant to The Vistakon “Sweet Sixteen” Performance Team for the Beijing Olympics. He has been the vision consultant to the New York Yankees for 16 years. Dr. Teig is the spokesperson for the Cooper Vision Teen Contacts Program. He is the founder and president of Ultimate Events, LLC, the parent company for The Ultimate Practice Management Conference.

Rachel Hawran, O.D. – Excellence In Eye Care – How We Say It! How We Do It!
   Dr. Hawran is the newest member of Ridgefield Family Eye Care in Ridgefield, CT. She is originally from Rockland County, New York. She attended the University of Buffalo, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology. Dr. Hawran earned her Doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, with a strong interest in pathology. While attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Hawran was the trustee for the American Optometric Student Association. She has conducted sports vision performance testing with the New England Collegiate Baseball League roster of players. Dr. Hawran is a spokesperson for Allergan Pharmaceuticals and lectures on dry eye management and practice management throughout the country.

Jeremy Lobo, C.F.P., C.F.S. – The Survival Guide To Successful Investing
    Jeremy Lobo has been helping retirees and investors reach their goals for over thirteen years. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Rhode Island Mr. Lobo holds five securities registrations, two insurance licenses, has his Certification in Long-Term Care, is a Certified Funds Specialist (CFS) and is proud to be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER.

   At the age of 23, Jeremy started his own financial planning business in Guilford, Connecticut. During his first full year, Jeremy achieved the distinction of being in the top 150 representatives in the nation at his broker/dealer and earned the honor of being named to the Jefferson Pilot Executive Council.

   Jeremy is co-founder and managing member of Lobo & Pascale Wealth Management, LLC, headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut. He specializes in retirement planning and provides comprehensive financial services to individuals, families, and businesses throughout the United States. Mr. Lobo has helped grow his company by at least 43 percent each of the past six years.

   Jeremy Lobo is a well-known financial educator throughout the United States. He has given hundreds of seminars and his guidance has helped many investors to maintain wealth and reduce their taxes. Jeremy has developed a specialty in working with retirees and investors approaching retirement, creating strategies to help ensure that their money lasts.
